Architecture & design
KASIGLAS® stands for high aesthetics with a low specific weight. It is therefore ideally suited for planning transparent interior design and futuristic roof constructions, for example.
With NEEROGLAS® we combine the best properties of mineral glass and plastic. The result is a lightweight material with a smart structure consisting of two thin glass sheets that are chemically bonded – completely without sensitive laminates or adhesives – durably bonded to a transparent core made of a flexible impact-resistant plastic.
NEEROGLAS® inherits the rigidity and durability of mineral glass as well as its excellent abrasion resistance. The plastic core, on the other hand, gives NEEROGLAS® break resistance and a significantly reduced weight compared to mineral glass, which predestines the new, highly innovative material for use in open, airy glass fronts, for example.
About a quarter lighter than mineral glass, and if necessary considerably more - up to 40%! How big the saving is in detail is ultimately decided by the thicknesses of the lightweight core and the cover sheets, which can be varied depending on the application and the desired weight saving. The standard thickness of the glass face sheets is one millimetre each, that of the polymer core around six millimetres.
Various modifications with regard to UV permeability, colouring with an almost unlimited range of colours, chemical resistance and weathering stability are possible, so that there is a wide variety of applications for NEEROGLAS®.
